SUMMARY: TRABUS is seeking a dedicated and skilled full-time Senior Software Engineer. The Senior Software Engineer will provide software development and assist in the planning and execution of software systems for the Unmanned Carrier Aviation platform, the MQ-25A Stingray.  The Senior Software Engineer will work in the Systems for developmental Advanced Networking Tactical System (ANTS) that shall test and assess ANTS through the development phase. The Senior Software Engineer will be comfortable working in an Agile development framework, be a senior member of a skilled development team, and provide software expertise across a broad spectrum of developmental skillsets.  The successful Senior Software Engineer will be willing to innovate and explore new designs and technologies. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide software engineering support to NIWC Pacific Code 551 developing features for the ANTS OSS network management software. This development work includes correction of deficiencies which will be incorporated into previous ANTS Unified Software Builds (USB).
  • Provide software engineering support focusing on participating in the software development in an Agile framework along with the team that is responsible for upgrading operational ANTS Unified Software Build Operational Support System (OSS) network management software to work with MQ-25A.
  • The Contractor shall coordinate with the OSS Lead/Product Owner to build solutions to perform autonomous troubleshooting for on-aircraft in-flight networking and data transport equipment.
  • Provide developmental solutions to perform autonomous troubleshooting for on-aircraft in-flight networking and data transport equipment. This includes software code development and integration that will ensure the networking hardware is functioning properly and to correct any failures discovered.
  • Provide development, troubleshooting, and test user support for the ANTS OSS network management software, which is hosted in the ANTS wideband network transport system onboard the MQ-25A developmental aircraft.
  • Provide expertise in building out security and maintenance patches, develop manual and automated solutions to perform regression testing of security and maintenance patches, and provide remote and onsite end-user support for the ANTS OSS software.
  • Provide software engineering services and perform the following: software development of new features and maintenance of existing features for the ANTS OSS; develop unit tests for features; write formal documentation of all software features; support MQ-25A vendor integration of ANTS OSS Application Program Interface (API) with MQ-25A Mission Management System Computer (MMSC) API; be a member of an Agile environment and provide key technical input during scrum meetings.
  • The Contractor shall provide software engineering services with a Senior Software Engineer with the minimum qualifications:

REQUIREMENTS:
The candidate must have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 5 years of Java development and programming experience 
  • Demonstrated proficiency with at least one scripting language, preferably Python
  • Experience in writing clear, high-quality, maintainable and extendable code with best practices of automated tests
  • 5 years of continuous programming experience; experience in agile software engineering process and life cycle
  • Ability to perform software development in a DevOps environment utilizing tools such as Git, Jenkins, Jira, Artifactory, Confluence, and Bitbucket
  • Demonstrated experience in Docker and microservices architectures
  • Willingness to suggest, design, and implement the utilization of new technologies into an existing product
  • Fully adjudicated DoD SECRET clearance

Desired requirements:
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field

  • Must demonstrate attention to detail, procedural compliance, and the ability to manage multiple duties simultaneously while meeting deadlines
