SUMMARY: TRABUS is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Waveform Engineer to support the US Space Force’s Multi-User Objective System (MUOS) constellation of satellites and their associated ground systems. MUOS is the DoD geostationary UHF satellites.  This role requires understanding of narrow band communications requirements. You will be instrumental in developing, optimizing, and integrating advanced RF and waveform technologies across a broad spectrum of platforms.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide waveform (WF) software support for the current WF as well as NBSC enhancements.
  • Provide the following related to the WF:
    • Problem change requests (PCR) and potential resolution tracking;
    • Participation in User Entry (UE) software Configuration Control Boards (CCBs);
    • Development of software metrics; cyber security planning and mitigation; and support in developing and accessing emerging requirements.
  • Review proposals related to the WF development environment as the ground system mission contractor and provide Information Repository (IR) in-processing support.
  • Address emerging and future WF requirements for potential international partners, including security posture, cyber security, and exportability
  • Manage and maintain conformance plans and processes; support conformance test case development and integration, testing, and reporting; and associated software support.
  • Maintain the Common Air Interface (CAI) ICD.
  • Provide WF Integration and Test (I&T) lab support including lab governance, Lab Access Requests, and MUOS Lab Scheduling Resource Board (MLSRB) support.
  • Provide MUOS/NBSC terminal developer support including but not limited to participation in industry TIMs, trouble ticket and PCR coordination, Net-Centric Enterprise Solutions for Interoperability (NESI) developer support site management, and terminal certification. 
  • Provide recommendations to address WF/terminal integration issues.
  • Provide technical expertise on third generation and beyond WCDMA telecommunications systems as adapted for space-based use and with military grade encryption.
  • Review current methods employed to monitor system utilization and optimization and provide recommendations for enhancements.
    • Provide technical trade studies on aspects of future generation standards for incorporation into existing infrastructure, including  risks, cost, and schedule
REQUIREMENTS:
  • 10+ years of RF and Waveform experience working in a fast-paced DoD environment.
  • Expertise in radio networks, waveform engineering, WCDMA knowledge and understanding of satellite communications.
  • Experience with DoD and US Space Force cybersecurity requirements
  • Experience in program management; program change requests; metrics requirements, visualization, and analysis.
  • Demonstrated abilities to monitor system performance, utilize system optimization techniques and recommendations for system(s) improvement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Fully adjudicated DoD security clearance – SECRET – is required

DESIRED:
  • Prior experience supporting DoD contracts.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and version control.
  • Be customer-focused, team-oriented, and motivated, taking ownership of assigned tasks
  • Have proven ability to self-manage, as well as manage interdisciplinary relationships
  • Must demonstrate attention to detail, procedural compliance, and the ability to manage multiple duties simultaneously while meeting deadlines
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance or have one already
  • Ability to obtain a fully adjudicated Top Secret clearance is desired.

EDUCATION:       
  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
