SUMMARY: TRABUS is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Software Engineer to support the US Air Force Phase II Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) development of a wireless spectrum efficient communications system. This role requires deep technical expertise in C++ (version 17), Digital Signal Processing (DSP), and Software-Defined Radio systems. You will be instrumental in developing, optimizing, and integrating advanced RF and waveform technologies across multi-processor Linux platforms.

This role requires deep technical expertise in C++ (version 17), Digital Signal Processing (DSP), and Software-Defined Radio systems. You will be instrumental in developing, optimizing, and integrating advanced RF and waveform technologies across multi-processor Linux platforms.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, develop, and maintain complex software solutions in C++17 and JavaScript for embedded RF-based networks.
- Interface with custom hardware and develop software to support unique digital signal processing pipelines and OFDM waveforms.
- Work with software-defined radio (SDR) systems and contribute to the development of scalable solutions.
- Optimize software performance and conduct detailed analysis for multi-threaded/multi-processor environments.
- Utilize Linux system APIs, kernel interfaces, and libraries for low-level hardware integration.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver integrated, mission-ready capabilities on schedule.
- Take ownership of tasks, from concept through implementation, with minimal oversight.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong programming skills in C++17 and JavaScript.
- Hands-on experience in Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and Software-Defined Radios (SDRs).
- Proficient in working with Linux-based development environments and system APIs.
- Skilled in utilizing GitLab as software repository
- Experience with radio network systems and OFDM waveforms.
- Demonstrated experience with multi-processor systems and performance optimization.
- Knowledge of developing software that interfaces with custom hardware.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
DESIRED:
- Prior experience supporting DoD contracts or SBIR programs.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies and version control (e.g., Git).
- Be customer-focused, team-oriented, and motivated, taking ownership of assigned tasks
- Have proven ability to self-manage, as well as manage interdisciplinary relationships
- Must demonstrate attention to detail, procedural compliance, and the ability to manage multiple duties simultaneously while meeting deadlines
- Ability to obtain a security clearance or have one already
- US Citizenship required
