SUMMARY: TRABUS is seeking a Director of Business Development to support identification, validation, research, and capture of new business opportunities in federal government markets. The successful candidate will have experience in working with Naval Information Warfare Systems Command (NAVWAR), other Navy Systems Commands (NAVSEA, NAVAIR, etc.), DoD, and/or other Federal Agencies. The candidate will be able to lead capture efforts, lead capture teams, prepare and organize proposal strategies, execute proposal development duties, and provide supporting marketing material or presentations. This position requires outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, excellent writing abilities, strong analytical skills, and the ability to think strategically. A technical background is preferred but not required. The candidate will be able to establish good working relationships with customers and strategic partners, be able to create and communicate complex business models or innovative solutions. Candidates with past military or government experience with active security clearances are preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Reports to the Managing Director/CEO and will work closely with company leadership to develop and refine long-term capture plans.
  • Identify, analyze, and qualify capture efforts that present potential for contract award.
  • Conduct required technical, programmatic, and industry research as required to validate potential capture opportunities.
  • Participate in industry conference or events as needed to support business strategy.
  • Lead, support, organize, perform, or direct the duties and responsibilities necessary to develop winning proposals.
  • Be able to manage or support multiple proposal efforts simultaneously, including management, technical, and costing approaches.
  • Support company marketing efforts through development of correspondence, presentations, fact sheets, statement of qualifications, and other promotional materials.
  • Execute non-disclosure and teaming agreements with potential partners.
  • Work closely with government officials as needed to successfully respond to government procurement requests.
  • Provide strategic planning and other facilitation services to government program offices.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must possess excellent communications skills (verbal and written) and able to lead multi-discipline teams (Technical writing skills strongly desired).
  • Excellent presentation skills and ability to represent the company and government clients at stakeholder meetings.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with some experience working on Federal Government programs (Department of Defense desired).
CANDIDATES MUST HAVE:
  • Must be proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Must have strong written and oral communication skills
  • Must have excellent organizational skills
  • Must demonstrate attention to detail, procedural compliance, and the ability to manage multiple duties simultaneously while meeting deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and in collaborative teams, and to adjust schedule to address workload demands and meet deadlines
EDUCATION: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, engineering, technical sciences, or related fields with at least 5 years direct experience of proposal development efforts, either directly or as part of a team.
