We are looking for a COLUMBIA Submarine Electrical Engineer & Technical Writer who can join our team and make an immediate impact through their creativity, enthusiasm, and technical abilities.  Our COLUMBIA Submarine Electrical Engineer & Technical Writer will coordinate, draft, and manage all technical correspondence related to the COLUMBIA Submarine Program Office (PMS 397).  He will participate in, and assist with, the electrical design of the submarine and the interior lighting design.  TRABUS isn’t looking for someone who will simply go through the motions, but someone willing to go beyond expectations, do something important, and make a true difference.

As a COLUMBIA Submarine Electrical Engineer & Tech Writer your responsibilities will include:
     As the Electrical Technical Correspondence and Technical Writer
  • Support the COLUMBIA Class Submarine Program by drafting and coordinating the approval of technical correspondence.
  • Review incoming electrical correspondence, verify cited references, develop comment resolution products, route incoming correspondence to appropriate reviewers, and prepare outgoing response letters.
  • Develop weekly reports.
  • Participate in weekly teleconferences with the Lead Engineer.
  • Prepare Unclassified and Classified briefs for audiences up to and including Navy Admirals.
    As the Lighting Systems Integration Team
  • Develop and recommend upgrades for lighting systems within the COLUMBIA Class Submarine.
  • Review technical letters.
  • Provide assessments for drawings, engineering reports, procurement specifications, parts lists, qualification data, test plans and procedures.
  • Attend meetings and advise Program Integrated Product Teams.
We’d expect you to have the following qualifications and/or education requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 5-7 years of experience.
  • MS Microsoft Office skills
  • You must have the ability to work both in a team environment and independently, and often under short and multiple deadlines.
  • There will be approximately 10% Travel in this position

You will be an even better fit if you have experience in these areas:
  • Work experience in the Navy and specifically within Team Submarine or onboard submarines is a plus.

US citizenship and a final DoD adjudicated Secret clearance is required.
