Position Description
Analyzes, designs and develops computer software required to support hardware or technical service products. Performs systems modeling, simulation and analysis. Reviews system architecture, and selects and implements appropriate development and support tools to ensure product performance.Fully applies basic principles, theories and concepts to job assignments. Exhibits technical and operational proficiency solving problems of moderate complexity. Interactions directly with customers on assignments.  Customer interactions include working directly with customers to accomplish assignments. Makes routine technical decisions for the completion of assigned projects in area of expertise under project supervision.
  • Bachelor's experience- 2 years, Master's- 1 year
  • 3+ years of experience with software engineering and development for DoD programs
  • 3+ years of experience with programming languages, including C, C++, and Fortran
  • Knowledge of DoD acquisition, systems engineering, and Cybersecurity processes
  • Knowledge of scripts
  • Knowledge of the Waterfall and Agile software development life cycle
  • Knowledge of Clear Case and Clear Quest
  • Ability to interact with technical and non–technical staff
  • Active Secret clearance
  • BA or BS degree
Additional Qualifications:
  • Experience with SPAWAR or other DoD clients
  • Experience with developing Web or mobile applications
  • Experience with other programming languages and technologies, including Java, Jovial, C#, Objective C, JavaScript, C, AngularJS, Spring and Hibernate, JBoss Application Server, SQL, and Nginx a plus
  • Experience with DevOps culture and practices desired
  • Desired experience with Spring; Maven; Twitter Storm; Accumulo; IntelliJ IDE; GIT; Atlassian Tools (Confluence; Stash; JIRA; Bamboo; SourceTree)
  • Experience with designing relational databases
  • Experience with developing mobile applications
  • Knowledge of HTML or CSS
  • Knowledge of computer security principles
  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Possession of excellent problem–solving skills
